Allana Nelson

Senior Manager, Principles for Digital Development, DIAL

Allana has more than a decade of experience in government, non profit, and private-sector organizations specializing in project management and business operations in the areas of international development, communications and training. She joined DIAL in April 2017 to lead the Principles for Digital Development portfolio on the Insights and Impact team. In this position, she’s responsible for new content creation, promotion, education and advocacy of the Digital Principles. Prior to joining DIAL, Allana spent more than two years at USAID’s Global Development Lab working on technology-based solutions to the Ebola response and recovery efforts in West Africa.

Allana’s past experience also includes working at an international training company, where she coordinated leadership and management seminars, organized workshops, and participated in business development activities. Previously, she worked in marketing and communications for the U.S. Navy, responsible for various publications, sponsorship coordination, and planning and executing large-scale events.

Allana holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Public Policy, with specializations in management and international development from the University of Maryland. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from California State University, Fresno.
